Our Vision & Mission
Bringing the World Home

The OCPCA will promote charitable, cultural, educational and social exchange/interaction between RPCVs and the community-at-large to foster cooperation, understanding and good will.
What We Do

In the Community
The OCPCA participates in many community-based activities. Along with helping Peace Corps with their recruiting efforts, we have co-sponsored "Walk for Peace", worked the International Street Fair in Orange, worked the pledge phones for KCET, provided speakers for schools whose classes are interested in international development, working overseas, and classes interested in other cultures.  We have also worked with Hugs for Seniors. Habitat for Humanity, and World Map projects.

For the National Peace Corps Association
The OCPCA is charged to carry out the third goal of the Peace Corps to bring the world back home.  We work to promote public awareness of Peace Corps and its activities.  We support the actions of the NPCA, including promoting the Peace Corps to the President and to the Congress.  All issues relevant to local Returned Peace Corps Volunteers are channeled to the NPCA.

For the Peace Corps
The Peace Corps and/or the local groups are separate organizations.  None-the-less, we work together to promote the Peace Corps, its values, and the contribution it makes toward sustainable development and world understanding.  We work together to raise money for small projects being undertaken by currently serving volunteers in all parts of the world.  And we actively participate with the local Peace Corps office in their recruiting efforts.
